After living in London for the last 2 and a half years, it feels very surreal to be back home in the North. Gone are the days of the constant hustle and bustle in a chaotic yet endearing city! This move was a big step for me as I had an amazing job at an outstanding Primary School in East London, along with a secure income and the most supportive group of colleagues one could ever wish for. Something was missing... I missed the creativity of the arts. I was missing part of me. It took one giant leap of faith to step into the unknown and into a world we call 'Freelance.' The thought used to terrify me of not knowing how or when your next pay packet would come through that month but somehow you make it work for you and my journey has just begun. I have just secured two Drama Teacher and Director positions at two amazing stage schools for young children and I am over the moon. Combining my two passions of teaching and drama into one job is a dream come true - this is just the beginning. Building your career takes time and patience but when positive change begins to happen it shows you that hard work pays off. Dream big and aim to be the best that you can be.
